PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is medicine that reduces your chances of getting HIV from sex or injection drug use. When taken as prescribed, PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV.

How do I take PrEP?
PrEP is available as a pill and a long-lasting injectable. When speaking to your healthcare provider, we recommend asking about the benefits of both to decide which is right for you!
 
Is PrEP Safe?
While everyone can experience medications differently, PrEP has a strong track record of people experiencing little to no side effects and is extremely safe. Your healthcare provider will monitor you every step of the way and will always be around to answer any questions you have.

Is PrEP Free?
